I have had this Dirt Band song on my mind...
I used to live the luxury life
A new house, three cars to drive
Steppin' over the credit line
I was payin' a heavy price
I was checking the oil and fluids in my trucks the other day and started to think. One of my trucks is a 1990 Chevy Silverado. It is my work truck for my business and is definitely nothing fancy. In fact, when you open the hood you can actually see the driveway through the engine bay. To this day though, it has been the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned.
My other truck is a 2005 Ford F250 diesel 4x4. It is loaded with every luxury you could imagine, and I am lost when I open the hood. Even though I consider myself quite the shade tree mechanic, I wont even try to change the oil in this truck. It is all too complicated.
Isn't that how life is? When we keep it simple it goes so smooth. However, when we start adding all the luxury items and stuff that we really don't need, it just complicates things.
I want to go back to the basics.
I was in way to deep
Straightened out my priorities
I'm a man of simple needs
Just rent, groceries, and gasoline
Living an uncomplicated life is... on this cowboys mind.
