Night life and big cities is alright for a while
Sure makes you feel good when you're there
But the country's so pretty it goes on and on for miles.
Takes away my troubles and my cares.
I read an article about Jimmy Buffett a few years back about his career. He started out singing country music, but after his first visit to Key West, he changed. He fell in love with the area, and it changed his whole outlook on life. This new outlook permeated his career and made him the success that he is today.
I recently had a similar experience when I visited Fredericksburg. The Texas hill country is definitely God's country. I can't remember the last time that I had felt so at peace. It changed something inside of me, and has caused me to start making some changes to simplify my life again.
I think God must be a cowboy at heart
He made wide open spaces from the start.
He made grass and trees and mountains and a horse to be a friend
And trails to lead old cowboys home again.
New ideas, new goals, and a new simple plan are... on this cowboys mind.

Authority
Oh, they like to get you in a compromising position.
They like to get you there and smile in your face.
Well, they think they're so cute when they got you in that condition.
Well, I think it's a total disgrace.
One Bible story that has always seemed a little odd to me is the book of Jonah. The thought of being swallowed by a whale then regurgitated three days later is just... odd. But our God is the authority of the land and sea, so why not. Jonah fought the authority of God, much like we still do today.
A whale is not only a big fish, but it also means to strike or hit repeatedly or forcefully. The secular society we live in today will strike and hit us repeatedly, and if we are not careful, it will swallow us. Society loves to temp us and then whale on us when we are down. When we don't follow the authority of God, we are nothing more than fish out of water.
Jonah 2:10
And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah unto the dry land.
I fight authority, authority always wins
I fight authority, authority always wins
I've been doing it since I was a young kid
I come out grinning
Well, I fight authority, authority always wins.
If the authority of the Lord can release us from the belly of the beast, why fight it?
Deciding whether to fish or cut bait is... on this cowboys mind.
